The guided walking tour through Dresden’s historic centre took the participants to some of the city’s most beautiful sights, such as the Zwinger, the castle, the Semperoper, Germany’s most famous opera house, as well as Frauenkirche church, which was destroyed in World War II and reconstructed after Germany’s reunification as a symbol of conciliation.

The biosphere reserve is located north of Bautzen in the eastern part of Saxonia at the German, Polish, and Czech border triangle. With more than one thousand ponds it is the largest network of lakes in Germany and many migratory birds either nest or rest in the area. It is known for its wide range of flora and fauna and has been recognized as a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1996. Some of the species that can be observed are stork, kingfisher, otter, sundew, and bog heather.

The Bohemian Switzerland National Park is located in north-western Czech Republic right at the border to Germany and the Saxon Switzerland National Park. It is a part of the larger territory of the Elbe Sandstones and consists of fascinating stone shapes resembling bridges, gates, honeycombs, or hourglasses. Besides its incredible rock features, the national park also hosts many animals, such as beavers and black storks, and plants. Old forests are surviving on inaccessible cliffs and many rare fungi, mosses, and ferns can be found here. Our tour took take us from Vysoká Lípa into the Kamenice gorge ending in Hrensko.
