European Academy Bolzano


EURAC is an interdisciplinary research centre based in South Tyrol, Italy with a focus on mountain related research. The contributing bodies for this proposal are the Institute for Applied Remote Sensing and the Institute for Alpine Environment of the department for Sustainable Development. Purpose of this research group is the advanced analysis of Earth Observation data and their integration into products and services tackling most relevant environmental issues in mountain areas. It is strongly involved in climate change impact assessments and vulnerability determinations of affected populations and ecosystems. Its work is carried out in close collaboration with a number of decisional authorities in the province of Bolzano.

Associated Partners, the department of Natural Parks, and the Province of Bolzano were the main user of this data. They profited from area wide, detailed information on ecosystem dynamics in the past and in the future.
