Ramsar report on the assessement of vulnerability of wetlands to climate change

The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention) has released Ramsar Technical Report No. 5 - A Framework for Assessing the Vulnerability of Wetlands to Climate Change

The report introduces the concept and definitions of vulnerability in the context of wetland assessment, explains the relationship between vulnerability and risk assessment, provides an overview of available methods and approaches to vulnerability assessment, and sets out a general framework for wetland vulnerability assessment in the context of Ramsar Convention implementation. It also provides advice on tools for those working to establish appropriate approaches for people's nature-based adaptation to climate change in wetlands. The report was published jointly with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Technical Series No. 57.
