Declaration on Accessibility

The Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development endeavours to make its websites and mobile applications accessible to all in accordance with the Sächsisches Inklusionsgesetz (SächsInklusG), the Barrierefreie-Websites-Gesetz (BfWebG) as well as the Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung (BITV 2.0). The BfWebG is supplemented by the Barrierefreie-Websites-Verordnung (BfWebVO). These laws are in accordance with the EU Web Accessibility Directive 2016/2102.

This accessibility statement applies to the following project website, which has not been updated since 23 September 2019 and which is still maintained for the purpose of documentation.

Accessibility status

The degree of accessibility is oriented on the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) at conformance level AA and the European standard EN 301 549, version 3.2.1. For PDF documents, we observe the international standard PDF/UA-1.

According to the above guidelines, this website is not fully accessible.

Lack of accessibility due to disproportionate burden

Currently, it would impose a disproportionate burden to make the following content fully accessible, according to Section 2(3) BfWebG in conjunction with Directive (EU) 2016/2102, Article 5 and Recital 39:

  • Some colour contrast ratios are below the required minimum values as the design was developed before September 2018.
  • Not all images/icons have alternative texts.

Non-accessible content not subject to regulations on accessibility

The following content is currently not accessible. It is exempt from this requirement under Section 1(2) Para 1 of the BfWebG in conjunction with Article 1(4) of EU Directive 2016/2102:

  • File downloads published before 23 September 2018 and not required for active administrative procedures.
  • Audio/video clips published before 23 September 2020.
  • Maps whose essential information is offered in some accessible alternative. If, for example, a map is used to explain the route to the institute, directions to the institute are also provided in written form.
  • Archive areas that are no longer subject to updating. This includes, for example, old research projects whose information is only retained for the purpose of documentation.

Preparation of the declaration

This declaration was prepared on 21 April 2023.

No further checks will be carried out. The website will only be maintained for documentation purposes.

Enforcement procedure

You have made a query regarding the accessibility of our websites and mobile applications using the above contact. If no satisfactory solution is achieved within a reasonable period of time (usually four weeks), you can contact the office of the State Commissioner for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities (Enforcement Office) at the Saxon State Chancellery, which is responsible for the relevant enforcement procedure. When disputes arise between public bodies in Saxony and users of websites or mobile applications, the Enforcement Office strives to find an amicable solution without recourse to the courts. This arbitration procedure is free of charge and participants do not need to appoint legal counsel.
